Dave Hardy, Member Services/Online Communications
Dave was raised in small towns in New York, and his love affair with both music and radio began at age eight, when he was given his first radio. He remembers his excitement when, at age nine, he found out that you could own some of the records they played on the radio. At age 16, his birthday gift was a night at the local radio station. Around the same time, computers sparked his interest when he obtained time on the local university's mainframe computer. During the CB craze of the '70's, Dave received his first transmitter and FCC license, and began his first "on air" experiences. He got his ham radio license in 1987 and is still active with that today. At Syracuse University, Dave was selected for radio training. When he moved to the Boston area and began working as a programmer/analyst at MIT, he aired his first radio show. He played show tunes, and comedy and novelty songs. Later, he introduced Cabaret Corner as a segment of the Broadway show. Outside BACA, Dave is owner of Positively Charged Internet radio, www.live365.com/stations/djsleeepy. "I hope to use my background in radio, computers, and music to help BACA grow in whatever way I can."

Linda Marks

Linda Marks, Communications Director and Open Mike Director
Linda Marks, a singer/songwriter since childhood, loves the cabaret genre for the intimacy of the relationship between singer and audience. A Yale University grad with honors and distinction in music, Linda co-founded Yale's third women's acapella singing group, Something Extra, as a 17 year old freshman and ran and performed in a Cabaret venue, Cafe Calhoun. She released an album of original songs, Dreams and Themes in 1983, and is delighted to release a new CD, Heart to Heart at Scullers Jazz Club on September 16, 2015. Linda enjoys serving on the board of directors of the Boston Association of Cabaret Artists and contributing to growing a vital sense of community. She has sung at Amazing Things Arts Center, Ryles, Arts at the Armory, Scullers, the Acton Jazz Cafe, the Spring into Song Cabaret Fundraiser, and a Singer Showcase sponsored by the Y Center for the Creative Arts at the West Suburban YMCA, both for the Newton Festival of the Arts.

Wendy Wolfberg

Wendy Wolfberg, Education, Events, and Communications
Over the years, Wendy has sung in choral groups including pastoral care, musical theatre, and with John Hoffman and the DEC Bigband. People just seem to hand her the microphone. She practices regularly by performing at various open mikes and outreach opportunities. Wendy is known for the sultry, strong, and upbeat quality of her voice and an intimate and warm performing style.

Trained classically, over time she sought to broaden and connect more deeply with sound and reenergize the journey. In addition to voice lessons in high school and college, Wendy took Authentic Movement classes with Shakti Smith at Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts in Concord, MA and later immersed herself in discovery working with Kate Ransohoff at Turtle Studios in Watertown. These did a lot to help her connect more deeply with the music.

A member of BACA since January of 2014, Wendy co-produced BACA's October 2014 fundraiser with Linda Marks and since the Fall of 2015 has been instrumental in getting the new Educational Workshops offerings up and running. She helped to form the committee, envision programming, and design the online reservation and payment system (with a lot of help from Andy on the technical side). She is currently supporting marketing and publicity efforts and always invites your ideas and suggestions.
